The trattoria
We opened Via dell'Orto in 2019 to cook the food we grew up eating in Trastevere. Most of the menu hasn't moved since.

The pasta is rolled by hand at 4pm. The amari are poured by Marcello, who runs the bar like a Roman side street. We don't take more than two seatings a night, and we don't take phone reservations.
The kitchen
Antonio grew up in Trastevere, learned to cook in his grandmother's kitchen, then spent ten years in restaurants across Rome, Bologna, and finally New York. Via dell'Orto is the trattoria he wished he could walk into off Bedford Street — and couldn't find, so he opened it.
Every plate that leaves the pass goes through him. Most nights, you'll see him at the hearth.
