A short reference for the words that get used around a build. No jargon for its own sake — just what each term means in practice.
Common terms
- Scope — the agreed list of what's being built, written down before work starts.
- Preview link — a private URL where you can see the work in progress before it goes public.
- Takeout — our fixed-scope, fixed-price path for smaller, well-defined jobs.
- Retainer — the simple monthly arrangement that covers hosting, care, and ongoing changes.
- Agent — a system that answers calls and messages and books appointments on your behalf.
- Integration — a connection that lets two tools share data automatically.
Hosting terms
- Uptime — the share of time your site is online and reachable.
- SSL / TLS — the encryption that puts the padlock in the address bar.
- Backup — a saved copy of your site or data that can be restored if something goes wrong.
